SARAH PREBLE | FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR

Sarah Preble founded Search Heights in January 2020, bringing more than 20 years of experience across executive search, sales, and leadership development. She specializes in recruiting senior Finance and HR leaders, with a particular focus on Controllers, VPs of Finance and Accounting, and CFOs. Her work spans privately held, private equity-backed, and publicly traded companies, from growing businesses to Fortune 150 companies.

Recent Client Experience

Sarah has completed more than 100 executive placements throughout her career, including more than 75 finance and accounting assignments across the Western United States. Much of her business comes from repeat clients and referrals, reflecting the long-term relationships she has built with executives and business owners.

Her recent work includes partnering with the CEO of a privately held homebuilder on CFO succession planning, followed by two additional VP placements in Accounting and FP&A to build out the new CFO's leadership team. She also partnered with the CFO of a $700 million private equity-backed early childhood education company to recruit a new VP of FP&A.

Sarah works closely with CEOs, CFOs, and investors to understand not only the experience a position requires, but the leadership qualities and business priorities that will determine success. Her assignments have included C-suite placements with total compensation packages exceeding $6M.

Beyond executive search, Sarah advises professionals at all career levels on interviewing and career management. Her years of working directly with hiring executives have given her a valuable perspective on how hiring decisions are made, what employers look for, and how candidates can better position themselves for opportunities.

Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a Certificate in Career Management from Stanford University.
